Laughter yoga involves a combination of breathing exercises, child-like playfulness and laughter exercises to produce laughter for prolonged periods of time. What a perfect way to start any hen party!
A full session of laughter yoga takes approximately 60-90 minutes. It involves a warm-up, followed by a series of laughter exercises and then uncontrollable laughter session where spontaneous belly laughter ripples through the group and can go on for over 10-15 minutes. The session ends with a blissful grounding and re-focusing meditation.

About

Laughter Yoga combines laughter exercises with deep (yogic) breathing. Sessions include songs, games, laughter exercises, deep breathing and a laughter meditation. Laughter Yoga is based on the premise that the body cannot distinguish between pretend and genuine laughter (this draws on NLP), and both produce the same physiological response. Not to mention that doing laughter exercises with others in a group will usually also product plenty of heartfelt or genuine laughter – since laughter is so contagious!
Its suitable for all ages and quickly helps bond a group of people who may not have met each other before.

What happens in a Laughter Yoga Session?

A laughter session is a group of people gathering to practice laughter as a form of releasing stress, bonding and generally creating a feel good factor about ourselves. You don’t need to feel good first, to be happy, or even have a sense of humour. We don’t use jokes or comedy.
We begin with brief socialising and very brief history of laughter yoga. The group is then taught a few basic guidelines, breathing exercises, and laughter games. We then move into the 1st part of the session where we do laughter exercises interspersed with yogic breathing. People begin to bond with others in this part and begin to laugh out loud for no reason!
The 2nd part of the session is just laughter for its own sake broken up with some silence ‘laughter deepens the silence and silence deepens the laughter’. This is the most fun and exciting part of the class because the group as a whole begin to laugh uncontrollable for between 10 – 15 minutes!
this leads us into the 3rd part where we all lie down and relax to a blissful guided relaxing meditation.
The session lasts between 60-90 minutes and is the perfect way to begin your party, with a big LOL!
